Manufacturer DescriptionEau Good Replacement Charcoal Filter Stick by Black+Blum. After 3 months of use recharge the binchotan charcoal filter stick by placing in boiling water for 10 minutes... then after 6 months recycle by smashing and using as a fertiliser in plant pots, use as an anti-odour stick in training shoes, burn or place in a cat litter tray to neutralise nasty smells. The binchotan charcoal filter makes tap water taste great and naturally pure and is a traditional Japanese filter. Binchotan active charcoal has been used in Japan as a water purifier since the 17th century as it reduces chlorine, mineralises the water and balances the pH. The binchotan active charcoal can be used for up to 6 months and recycles for many different uses after this. Over 22 billion plastic water bottles are discarded around the world every year. We want to reduce this by making tap water taste better and encourage people to stop buying bottled water. To use simply squeeze the bottle (sold separately) and lock the filter stick in place. Then fill with drinking tap water and use after a minimum of 1 hour (better the longer you leave it, try in the fridge overnight) The stick will naturally add minerals and remove chemicals, balancing pH. (PLEASE NOTE: Only use with drinking tap water)
- Binchotan charcoal is an active carbon made from tree branches
- It absorbs impurities such as chlorine by attracting the negative ions to its surface
- In exchange, the charcoal sends its nutrients (calcium, iron and magnesium) back into the water
- It also neutralises the water's pH levels
- Each stick lasts for 3 months. At this time if you boil it in water for 10 minutes it will recharge for a further 3 months.
